The Celtic festival of Samhain (from which Halloween draws its origins) marks the end of harvest and the beginning of winter. Believing the veil between worlds to be at its thinnest, the Celts built giant bonfires and wore costumes to ward off evil spirits during the evening's celebrations. In keeping with these ancient guising practices, we find inspiration in folk costumes from around the world, from the spooky to the festive, and everything in between.
