PALESTINIAN SOAP COOPERATIVE
Palestinian Soap Cooperative brings together seven different Nabulsi soapmakers from Sebastia: Jamal, Mufftahein, Ard, Nimer, Naama, Zaytoon, and Shamaa.
Nablus soap is famous for its multi-faceted benefits, hearty enough to remove stains, yet gentle enough for the most sensitive skin. Soapmakers carry forward a 4,500-year-old tradition that dates back to ancient Syria and Iraq, slowly soaking and cooking water, olive oil, and lye in a cauldron through a traditional hot process. The resulting soap is cooled on a stone floor and cured in chimney-shaped towers for up to 8 months to create a hard, long-lasting, and pure bar.
