Tim Whitten | Artist Tim Whitten’s hobby of rope work, known as fancy marlinespike seamanship, went from pastime to vocation when he set up shop in the coastal Maine town of Stonington in 2008. Now he spends his time knotting beckets, fenders, bellhops and seabags in his studio as well as finely detailed nautical jewelry.
