Referencing the narrative friezes of Athenian Geometric diadems, the cigar band is ornamented with a granulated border and central Nona motif. The nine-granule motif is named both for the Latin word Nona, meaning ‘to have nine,’ and the Italian familial name for grandmother, Nonna.

Prounis was launched in 2017 by Jean Prounis. Heavily influenced by her grandparents and their iconic 1930s Manhattan hotspot the Versaille Club, each piece in the collection is crafted in a lush, 22 karat gold and uses ancient goldsmithing techniques .
