Everytime I am lucky enough to go on a buying trip to London, I look forward to visiting Artwords Books in Shoreditch. Last time I was there I was looking for a new novel and picked this one out cause I liked the cover design... I realize that you are not supposed to do that, but the author having won the Nobel Prize for Literature didn't hurt either.
I was so glad I did. Tokarczuk, a fabulous portraitist, has crafted a whimsical story filled with wonderfully unique characters, thrown together in a murder mystery of sorts, and narrated by an aging astrologist who is so charming that I am looking forward to becoming just like her in thirty years.
